Enrollment Information

How to Enroll

1. Online
  • Visit UCLA Extension and search under “Quick Enroll” using the registration number. Add the course to your cart and checkout as a Returning Student or New Student. American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and VISA are accepted.
2. Phone
  • Call (310) 825-9971. Representatives are available to assist you between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
3. Check
  • Print and complete an enrollment form.
  • Make check payable to The Regents of the University of California.
  • Mail enrollment form and check to:

4. Purchase Order (P.O.) or Billing Authorization*

There are 3 ways to enroll via purchase order. In all cases, you will receive an invoice, via mail or email, requesting payment:

  1. Scan and email a completed enrollment form and P.O. or Billing Authorization to PO@uclaextension.edu.
  2. Print and complete an enrollment form with credit card information and authorizing signature and fax to (310) 206-5066.
  3. Mail completed enrollment form and P.O./Billing Authorization to:

*Note: Purchase Orders/Billing Authorizations must be on company letterhead and contain the follow items:

  • Billing company’s name
  • Billing address
  • Billing preference (email or mail)
  • Name, mailing address, phone, and email address of the student(s) to be enrolled
  • Course number, title and fee
  • Signature of authorized individual
Enrollment Advice

Early registration is advised to take advantage of discounted fees, and with regards to our refund policy and authorization from your organization.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

All courses and events are eligible for a refund up until one week before the start date. Fees may be transferred to a different course in the same quarter without penalty. Please call registration at (310) 825-9971 to make this request. After the deadline, all refunds must be requested via email to refunds@uclaextension.edu.

Course Materials

The cost of any and all materials are included in the course fee. Each course may include lecture notes, handouts, and/or online materials.

Types of Educational Credits Available

  • Continuing Education Units (CEU): You are awarded CEU upon completion of any course within the Public Policy Program (one CEU represents 10 contact hours of satisfactory participation in an organized noncredit continuing education program)
  • Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE): MCLE is the approved continuing legal education credit required of California attorneys. All course offerings are eligible unless otherwise noted. For further information visit The State Bar of California website.
  • Certification Maintenance Credits (CM): All professional planners who are members of APA’s professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), are required to engage in mandatory continuing education. All course offerings are eligible unless otherwise noted. For further information visit The American Planning Association website.

Prerequisites

There are no formal educational requirements for taking courses within the Public Policy Program.

Tax Credits

You may be eligible for a tax credit for fees paid at UCLA Extension. For details, see tax information on UCLA Extension’s website.

Class Attire

There is no mandated dress code. However, we do encourage participants to dress for comfort in business-casual attire.
