Program begins Fall Quarter 2018

Entering its 24th year, the UCLA Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Classics is a one year program offering students who have completed a bachelor’s program or its equivalent the opportunity to study Classics or Latin full time, and earn a certificate in preparation for admission to graduate programs in Classics and related fields. The Program is supervised by the faculty of UCLA’s internationally recognized Department of Classics. Students in the Program are an integral part of the Department’s overall teaching mission and enroll in regular undergraduate (and, with permission, graduate) courses.

The city and university also offer students many resources, including UCLA’s own excellent libraries and special collections. In addition, students may take full advantage of the vibrant program of lectures, conferences, and concerts organized by the university’s Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (CMRS) and by the Department of Classics, as well as the Getty Center located nearby, and the Huntington Library in Pasadena, and other community offerings.

UCLA Extension is a division of UCLA devoted to continuing higher education. One of the largest single-campus continuing higher education programs in the country, it advances the missions of the university within the larger local, national, and international communities. Students in the UCLA Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Programs in Classics enroll through UCLA Extension.
